Empowering Global Trade Through Every Milestone

The forefathers of our founder, Nizamudeen ventured into Maritime industry as steamer agents, known as Ceylon Boat Company. We are proud to honour this heritage we have in Maritime & Commodities space, while continually striving to improve and innovate, building on the foundation laid by generations before us.

Nizamudeen co-founded Seapol Group, growing it into an internationally recognised brand. He established a port agency handling 600+ port calls annually and expanded into ship management with a fleet of 5 ships. His vision to grow the group's global footprint led to the inception of freight trading, and the acquisition of Seapol One, followed by a Dry Bulk Carrier.

Seapol Port was established. Seapol Port was one of the first players to introduce mobile harbour cranes in India, starting with the acquisition of a crane for Karaikal Port from Liebherr Germany. Known for their exceptional engineering and quality, these German-made cranes enabled Seapol Port to expand its presence along the East Coast of India.

In 2013, Universal Seaport Pvt Ltd (USPL), a subsidiary of Seapol Port, secured long-term contracts with port trusts, which included stevedoring services, further strengthening its expertise in cargo handling and maritime infrastructure. Universal Seaport acquired two more mobile harbour cranes for its operations at Haldia Dock Complex (HDC), where it also began onboard stevedoring operations.
In 2016, Seapol Port deployed two mobile harbour cranes in Vizag, enhancing its presence along the East Coast of India. This was further strengthened in 2021 with the addition of another crane, solidifying Seapol Port’s strategic presence and operational capacity in Vizag.

In 2017, Seapol Port, through its subsidiary USPL, expanded its services to operations and maintenance (O&M), further strengthening its expertise in port and industrial operations and maintenance. In 2017, the first contract secured, followed by a contract at Mangalore in 2021, and Tuticorin in 2023, and Mumbai in 2024.

In 2022, Seapol Port established its Indian coastal freight trading division, successfully transporting 600,000 MT of cargo, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion into the freight trading sector.

Seapol Port expanded into shipowning with the acquisition of a chemical tanker, supported by a long-term contract through a strategic partnership with a reputed Singapore-based operator.

As of 2025, Seapol Port is expanding its expertise in both asset-heavy and asset-light operations, focusing on increasing maritime asset ownership and enhancing asset-light ventures. We are committed to sustainable infrastructure and global decarbonization efforts, integrating green technologies to strengthen our business and contribute to a sustainable future in global trade.
